Ces tubes sont remplis d&#039;un compos\u00e9 de remplissage hydrofuge. Un fil d&#039;acier, parfois gain\u00e9 de poly\u00e9thyl\u00e8ne (PE) pour les c\u00e2bles \u00e0 haute densit\u00e9 de fibres, est plac\u00e9 au centre de l&#039;\u00e2me et sert d&#039;\u00e9l\u00e9ment de renforcement m\u00e9tallique. Les tubes (et le compos\u00e9 de remplissage) sont torsad\u00e9s autour de cet \u00e9l\u00e9ment de renforcement pour former une \u00e2me de c\u00e2ble compacte et circulaire. Un stratifi\u00e9 aluminium-poly\u00e9thyl\u00e8ne (APL) est appliqu\u00e9 autour de l&#039;\u00e2me du c\u00e2ble et rempli du compos\u00e9 de remplissage afin de la prot\u00e9ger des infiltrations d&#039;eau. L&#039;\u00e2me du c\u00e2ble est ensuite recouverte d&#039;une fine gaine int\u00e9rieure en PE.
