Description

FF-VFL-B Series Mini Visual Laser Source totally complies with the human engineering. It’s small in size, easy to operate, portable and integrated with a launching indicator. A Visual Laser Source is usually used to inspect the damaged or broken point of a optical fiber, cable, patchcord and etc. If the inspected fiber does have a defect, user could find the visual laser at the broken or damaged point. FF-VFL-B Series Mini Visual Laser Source is suitable for both single mode and multimode fibers. The performance of the visual laser source will act a little different on different fiber coat and color.

Features
– Totally comply with the human engineering design. Small, portable and durable
– Standard multi-adaptor can be applied to connect with almost any adaptor type. Also provides interchangeable fiber adaptors of several common types
– Higher output laser power, max 15km detecting range
– Integrated with continuous wave and 2Hz modulated wave output function

Evaluating the FF-VFL-B Series Mini Visual Laser Source in the field, its ergonomic 120 x 33 x 30 mm footprint and ultralight 67.8g weight make it exceptionally easy to carry and operate. The 650nm LD laser emitter couples smoothly via a 2.5mm universal optical connector to test FC, SC, and ST patch cords or bare fibers. We selected the FF-VFL-B10 configuration (10mW output power), which easily identifies fiber breakpoints, severe bends, and poor splices across a 12km detection range. At a reference price of $35 USD (SKU: FF-VFL-B), it offers remarkable portability and performance for daily network maintenance.

The FF-VFL-B Visual Fault Locator provides impressive versatility for inspecting both single-mode and multimode optical fibers. Featuring integrated launching indicators and a choice between Continuous Wave (CW) and 2Hz modulated output modes, technicians can quickly isolate damaged points along cable runs. Operating on 2 standard AAA dry batteries, the unit delivers up to 12 hours of battery life in 2Hz mode for the 10mW model. Having high-output options up to 50mW capable of detecting faults up to 35km away makes this series a versatile standard for telecom crews.

From a B2B procurement standpoint, FirstFiber's FF-VFL-B Mini Visual Laser Source is a reliable, budget-friendly addition to our fiber test kits. The universal 2.5mm adapter eliminates the need for separate connectors when switching between SC, ST, and FC interfaces in customer terminal boxes. The visible red laser bleeds clearly through damaged buffer coating and outer jackets at defect locations. Considering its durable construction, wide operating temperature range (-10°C to +50°C), and accessible $35 reference price, it is an outstanding field tool.
