FOSCIF4 Inline Type Fiber Optic Splice Closure (FOSC)

Deploying FirstFiber's FOSCIF4 inline splice closure across our regional outdoor distribution network simplified field splicing and drop-line expansion. The mechanical sealing system using thermoplastic rubber grommets forms a watertight seal that allows easy reopening and resealing without needing heat shrink torches. Featuring 4 inlet/outlet ports accommodating cable diameters up to 16 mm, it provides ample entry flexibility for distribution feeds. Constructed from high-impact Polycarbonate (PC) and operating across severe temperatures from -40°C to +65°C, it maintains an airtight seal in aerial, direct-buried, and manhole deployments. The compact interior holds up to 2 splice trays, accommodating 48 bunchy fibers (24 fibers per dual-layer tray) or 72 ribbon fibers.

At a reference baseline price starting at just $16 USD, the FOSCIF4 delivers enterprise-grade protection at an exceptional price point. Measuring 340 (L) × 150 (W) × 70 (H) mm with a net weight of 1.5 kg to 2.0 kg, the slim inline chassis is lightweight and easy for technicians to maneuver during overhead aerial hanger or wall installations. The closure arrives as a turnkey kit supplied with standard accessories, including 2 aerial hanging hooks, 4 port plugs, an M6 wrench, sealing tape, insulation tape, nylon ties, grounding wire, abrasive cloth, and protective sleeves. Supporting up to 72 ribbon fibers with orderable capacity options of 24 Cores and 48 Cores, it is a highly economical choice for expanding municipal FTTx networks.

We standardized on the FOSCIF4 for underground duct, pipeline, and direct-buried splicing contracts due to its rigid Polycarbonate outer body. Joined by heavy-duty housing bolts and an internal sealing grommet, the chassis withstands heavy soil pressure and vibration without leaking water. We opted to equip our units with the optional pressure testing valve to perform air pressure integrity checks prior to trench backfilling. The central foundation plate firmly secures cable strength members, while the 4 port plugs maintain airtight seals on unused cable entries. It is a thoroughly dependable, reusable inline splice closure for long-term outdoor cable management.
