Description

The fibers,200/250μm, either of single-mode or multimode type, are positioned in a loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filling compound. A layer of aramid yarn or high strength glass is applied around the cable core as additional strength member. Then, the cable is completed with a black or color HDPE sheath.

FAQ

Q1: What is the core construction and primary application of the JET GYFXTY cable?

A: The JET GYFXTY is a non-metallic indoor/outdoor optical fiber distribution cable designed for FTTH (Fiber to the Home) micro-cable applications. It houses 200/250μm single-mode or multimode fibers in a jelly-filled loose tube, reinforced with aramid yarn or high-strength glass fiber, and finished with a PVC, LSZH, or HDPE outer sheath.

Q2: How does the JET GYFXTY cable protect against interference and environmental hazards?

A: Key protective features include:

  • All-Dielectric Non-Metallic Construction: Eliminates electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference.
  • Rodent Protection: High-strength glass fiber layer prevents mouse bites.
  • Flame Retardancy: PVC or LSZH sheath options ensure fire prevention performance for indoor routing.
  • Water Resistance: Jelly-filled loose tube compound protects optical fibers from water ingress.

Q3: What cable diameters, weights, and tensile strengths are available for GYFXTY?

A: Available configurations for 2–24 core capacities include:

  • 6.0 mm Diameter: 20 kg/km weight | 1000/2000 N tensile strength | 200/400 N/100m crush resistance
  • 6.5 mm Diameter: 25 kg/km weight | 1200/2500 N tensile strength | 250/500 N/100m crush resistance
  • 7.0 mm Diameter: 28 kg/km weight | 1500/3000 N tensile strength | 250/500 N/100m crush resistance
  • 7.5 mm Diameter: 30 kg/km weight | 1800/3500 N tensile strength | 250/500 N/100m crush resistance

Q4: What is the operating temperature range and bending radius spec for this cable?

A: The cable operates and stores across a temperature range of -40℃ to +70℃ and maintains a bending radius of 30D static and 15D dynamic.

Q5: Who manufactures the JET GYFXTY cable and how can I request custom ordering?

A: Manufactured by FirstFiber Technologies, you can submit inquiries by clicking “Add to Quote” on the product page for volume pricing or “Request a Demo” for sample evaluations.

Deploying micro-cables for high-density FTTH distribution demands an ultra-lightweight profile and high tensile endurance to maximize pneumatic duct-jetting distances. We selected FirstFiber Technologies' JET GYFXTY Indoor/Outdoor Cable across a major municipal FTTH expansion. The compact outer diameter specifications—ranging from 6.0 mm (20 kg/km weight) for lower core counts up to 7.5 mm (30 kg/km weight) for 24-core variants—allowed our installation crews to achieve exceptional jetting runs through sub-ducts. The aramid yarn strength member provides robust tensile performance, rated up to 1800 N long-term and 3500 N short-term, while the defined bending radius limits (15D dynamic / 30D static) made slack coiling inside distribution boxes completely hassle-free.

One of the biggest operational hurdles in subscriber distribution is transitioning outdoor trunking into indoor riser environments without adding costly optical splice points. The JET GYFXTY distribution cable solves this by offering flexible LSZH and PVC outer sheath options alongside traditional HDPE. This allows us to pull the same cable directly from outdoor sub-ducts straight into indoor terminal boxes while maintaining full fire prevention compliance. Additionally, the non-metallic, high-strength glass fiber layer provides effective protection against rodent bites without requiring heavy metallic armor. Continuous OTDR monitoring confirmed zero microbending degradation across an operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C.

For industrial campus links passing near high-voltage substations or heavy machinery, avoiding electromagnetic induction is essential. The all-dielectric, non-metallic structure of the GYFXTY cable completely eliminates radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI). The 200/250 µm G.652 single-mode fibers are housed in a high-modulus, jelly-filled loose tube engineered with an anti-shrinkage compact design that shields the optical core from moisture and mechanical strain. Post-installation attenuation measurements consistently beat factory specs, averaging $\le 0.36\text{ dB/km}$ at $1310\text{ nm}$ and $\le 0.22\text{ dB/km}$ at $1550\text{ nm}$. It is a thoroughly engineered, versatile distribution cable for B2B optical infrastructure.
