The FF-3303A/B handheld optical variable attenuator can conveniently and quickly complete the continuous variable attenuation of optical signals from 0dB to 30dB/0dB to 60dB, with a high attenuation accuracy of 0.1dB, providing 5 commonly used wavelengths of light attenuation function, backlight adjustment and display function, precise attenuation accuracy, and user self calibration function. It has a universal interface design, and the attenuation value is displayed on the LCD screen. Stress-testing high-speed optical transceivers and EDFAs in our R&D lab requires precise, continuous variable signal degradation. We procured the FF-3303B model for its extended 0 to 60 dB attenuation range and maximum input power handling of up to 18 dBm. The unit's display resolution of 0.1 dB and tight attenuation repeatability of 0.1 dB (in the 0 to 30 dB range) ensure highly reproducible Bit Error Rate (BER) curves during receiver threshold validation. Having five pre-calibrated wavelengths (1310, 1490, 1550, and 1625 nm) available on a single handheld device allows seamless switching between CWDM, DWDM, and PON test setups without re-calibrating benchtop gear. The onboard user self-calibration function gives us full confidence in long-term measurement integrity.
