Description

FF-6800 Series Optical Cable Identifer is an intelligent instrument designed for the construction and maintenance of optical cable lines in optical communication system. In view of the complex wiring environment and the diffculty of locating faults during the construction and long-term use of optical cables, FF-6800 series can provide fast, effective and accurate fault solutions. When the target optical cable is bent or shaken, the optical cable identifer instrument can quickly capture the vibration signal and display it through waveform and sound, so as to locate the target optical cable quickly.

FF-6800 series provides the simplest method for Telecommunication engineers and technicians to track and identify the target optical fiber or cable clearly. Optical cable identifer instrument has the advantages of friendly interface, simple and practical, non-toxic and harmless, and does not damage optical cable. It is suitable for accurate identifcation of optical cable in the environment of manhole, tunnel, overhead, pipeline and so on. It is a new instrument tailored for optical cable construction, acceptance and operation and maintenance technicians.

Identifying a specific fiber cable among dozens in cramped manholes or underground tunnels used to be a high-risk operation. The FF-6800 solves this by capturing real-time vibration signals through acoustic and visual waveform feedback whenever the target cable is gently tapped or flexed. The single-fiber test architecture eliminates the need for distal loopbacks, saving hours during field cut-over operations. Because the identification process is completely non-destructive and non-toxic, it eliminates the risk of accidental live-traffic fiber cuts.

Consolidating a dedicated cable identifier with a full-function OTDR, Optical Light Source, Optical Power Meter, and VFL into one chassis has drastically improved our field maintenance efficiency. The one-key intelligent test mode automatically optimizes parameters, generating clear graphical link representations that junior technicians can interpret instantly. The 5.6-inch color LCD screen with dual touch and button controls performs reliably even when technicians wear protective gloves. It easily distinguishes break points and both APC and UPC optical cable ends across complex route topologies.

Emergency fiber repairs in overhead lines and pipeline networks demand fast, definitive cable locating. The FF-6800 delivers immediate audio and visual confirmation of the target cable without damaging the outer sheath or interrupting active traffic. The multi-functional testing platform allows our crews to locate the cable, run OTDR diagnostics, and measure optical loss using a single piece of equipment. This multi-functionality has drastically streamlined site acceptance testing and reduced our mean-time-to-repair during outage recovery.
