FOSCIB6 Inline Type Fiber Optic Splice Closure (FOSC)

The mechanical sealing using thermoplastic rubber is exceptional. We deployed these in a FTTH backbone expansion requiring both direct buried and manhole installations. The PC body feels robust enough to handle the -40℃ winter drops we experience. What our field technicians really appreciated was the reusable mechanical seal—re-entry for maintenance doesn't require heat shrinking or messy gels. With the 6 ports (two 13mm, two 16mm, and two 20mm), it easily accommodates our main armored cables and drop branches. Highly recommended for mid-span access where long-term durability is non-negotiable.

We bought a batch of FOSCIB6 units for a 96-core distribution node. The internal cable management is very well thought out. The four included splice trays provide ample routing space, preventing micro-bending even when maxing out the 24-fiber dual-layer capacity per tray. We predominantly use bunchy cables (up to 96 fibers), and the routing paths kept our bend radii perfectly within spec. The inclusion of comprehensive standard accessories—like the grounding wire, sealing tape, and nylon ties—made field prep incredibly efficient. This is a solidly engineered closure for high-density nodes that saves us significant installation time

Excellent build quality and thermal stability. We've subjected these to aerial installations where summer canopy temperatures approach the 65℃ maximum rating, and the polycarbonate enclosure hasn't warped or compromised the seal. The physical port configuration matches our standard distribution cables perfectly. Furthermore, the closure is relatively lightweight at 2.65~2.8KG considering its ruggedness, making pole mounting via the included hanging hooks much less cumbersome for solo technicians. Pro tip: make sure to order the optional valve if you require strict pressure testing post-installation, though we found the standard thermoplastic grommet seals perfectly right out of the box.
