FOSCIR4 Inline Type Fiber Optic Splice Closure (FOSC)

The FOSCIR4's uniform port configuration (4 ports × 20mm) makes it an outstanding choice for our heavy-jacketed trunk line splices. Having four full 20mm entryways gives our field crews complete flexibility when feeding high-count backbone cables without forcing tight jacket stripping limits. The polycarbonate body and thermoplastic rubber grommets maintain a reliable mechanical seal even under water immersion in subterranean manholes. Re-entry for maintenance is clean and fast—no heat guns or gel replacements required. It is a dependable inline closure for long-term OSP backbone installations.

We standardized on the FOSCIR4 for our high-density ribbon splicing deployments requiring up to 144 fibers. The internal foundation rail and four splice trays accommodate 6 ribbon splices per tray smoothly while keeping fiber bend radii well within standard specifications. At 460mm in length, the enclosure provides ample slack storage space without being cumbersome in cramped underground vaults. It has handled Nordic winter drops down to -40℃ without any shell micro-fracturing or seal compression failure.

Deploying the FOSCIR4 on aerial spans using the standard hanging hooks has streamlined our installation timeline. Weighing between 2.3 and 2.5 KG, the unit strikes an ideal balance between rugged structural strength and manageable handling for bucket-truck technicians. The standard accessory package—including M8 wrenches, sealing tape, abrasive cloth, and grounding wires—ensures field crews have everything required for immediate assembly.
