Deploying the FOSCMG6 mechanical dome closure across our regional backbone network simplified high-density splicing and future maintenance routines. The mechanical sealing design featuring thermoplastic rubber grommets eliminates the need for heat guns or torches, making field re-entry straightforward during network expansions. Its 6 cable ports accept cable diameters up to 16 mm, offering versatile branching options for major trunk feeds. Built from high-strength Polycarbonate (PC) and operating across -40°C to +65°C, the housing provides maximum protection against environmental hazards in manhole, pipeline, and direct buried installations. With 6 dual-layer trays holding up to 48 bunchy fibers each (288 fibers maximum), it is an exceptional solution for high-core-count fiber cable management.

At a reference price starting at just $27 USD, FirstFiber's FOSCMG6 delivers enterprise-level durability and complete accessory inclusion. Measuring 480 (H) × 220 (D) mm with a net weight of 3.5 to 4.1 kg, the rugged PC dome shell withstands substantial soil pressure and mechanical vibration in direct burial and aerial deployments. We appreciate the comprehensive installation kit, which includes port sealing rings, sealing tape, insulation tape, hanging hoops, nylon ties, and dual wrenches. We also added the optional testing valve to confirm airtight seals prior to underground installation.

The FOSCMG6 has proven to be a highly reliable workhorse for our high-density ribbon fiber distribution nodes. Supporting up to 432 ribbon fibers or 288 bunchy fibers across its 6 splice trays, the internal layout allows clean routing of loose buffer tubes into the dedicated fiber holding tray. The 6 uniform 16 mm ports give our technicians plenty of flexibility for parallel cable entries. Whether installed on aerial pole mounts using the provided hanging hoops or submerged in flooded manholes, the mechanical hoop clamp and sealing grommets provide long-term, weather-resistant protection.
