FAQ

Q1: What is the maximum fiber capacity of the FOSCYD7 splice closure?

A: The maximum capacity is 240 fibers for bunchy setups and up to 756 fibers for ribbon configurations. Selectable core options for ordering range from 24 Cores up to 240 Cores.

Q2: What sealing structure does the FOSCYD7 use, and does it support uncut cables?

A: It features a heat-shrinkable sealing structure and is specifically designed for use with uncut cables.

Q3: How many ports does the FOSCYD7 have, and what cable diameters are supported?

A: It features 7 inlet/outlet ports. The cable entry configuration includes 1 large port supporting cable diameters up to 36mm and 6 ports supporting cable diameters up to 21mm.

Q4: What are the physical dimensions, net weight, and operating temperature range?

A: The closure dimensions are 450(H) × 220(D) mm, with a net weight ranging from 3.0 kg to 3.6 kg. It is engineered to perform reliably across extreme temperatures between -40℃ and 65℃.

Q5: What installation methods are supported for this model?

A: The FOSCYD7 supports aerial, direct buried, pipelined, wall mounting, and manhole deployments.

Q6: What are the specifications for the housing body and splice trays?

A: The body is constructed from durable PC (Polycarbonate) material, and the enclosure houses up to 10 splice trays. Each tray accommodates 12 fibers (single layer) or 24 fibers (dual layers) for bunchy configurations, and 3 to 6 pieces for ribbon setups.

Deploying the FOSCYD7 dome closure across our regional backbone expansion solved our high-density splicing and uncut cable routing requirements. The 7-port arrangement—featuring 1 primary 36 mm oval port for mid-span feeder loops and 6 round 21 mm branch ports—allows field crews to execute clean mid-span cuts without interrupting active channels. Supporting up to 240 bunchy fibers or an impressive 756 ribbon fibers across 10 splice trays, each dual-layer tray neatly organizes 24 bunchy fibers. Constructed from high-impact Polycarbonate (PC) and sealed with thermoplastic rubber, its heat-shrinkable sealing structure maintains an airtight seal across operating temperatures ranging from -40°C to +65°C in both aerial pole-mounts and flooded manholes.

At a reference baseline price starting at just $19 USD, FirstFiber Technologies has delivered an extraordinary value for utility-grade fiber jointing. Measuring 450 (H) × 220 (D) mm with a manageable net weight of 3.0 kg to 3.6 kg, the enclosure provides high core density without being overly bulky for overhead aerial handling. The closure ships as a complete turnkey package with standard accessories including 10 splice trays, a loose tube storage tray, hanging hoops for pole and wall mounting, an M10 wrench, nylon ties, grounding wire, abrasive cloth, and protective aluminum-foil paper. It is a cost-effective, scalable enclosure for major municipal fiber rollouts.

We standardized on the FOSCYD7 for direct-buried, pipeline, and manhole fiber splicing contracts due to its rigid PC housing body and heavy-duty plastic hoop clamp. The interior is well organized, holding up to 10 splice trays alongside a dedicated fiber holding tray for storing loose tube buffer fibers cleanly. We opted to add the optional pressure testing valve and desiccant bag to perform air tightness testing before backfilling underground trenches. Selecting between core capacity options from 24 Cores up to 240 Cores allowed our engineering team to order exact internal tray configurations for various distribution nodes.
