FAQ

Q1: What are the primary functions and display features of the TYNISH Thumb-Sized OPM & VFL?

A: The TYNISH device is an ultra-compact multimeter integrating an Optical Power Meter (OPM) and Visual Fault Locator (VFL). It features a 0.96-inch 128×64 resolution OLED display that remains clearly visible from any angle, even under direct sunlight.

Q2: What are the key performance specifications for the Optical Power Meter (OPM) module?

A: Key OPM specifications include:

  • Wavelength Range: 800nm to 1700nm with 7 calibrated wavelengths (850, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, 1625, and 1650nm).
  • Working Range Options: -70 to +10dBm or -50 to +26dBm.
  • Frequency Identification: Supports CW, 270Hz, 330Hz, 1kHz, and 2kHz.
  • Readout: Displays mW and dBm values simultaneously.

Q3: What options are available for the Visual Fault Locator (VFL) module?

A: The VFL operates at 650nm (±30nm) in CW or 2Hz modes using a 2.5mm universal connector. Selectable output power levels include 2mW, 5mW, 10mW, 20mW, 30mW, and 50mW.

Q4: What are the physical dimensions, power supply, and data storage capabilities?

A: Physical and operational specs include:

  • Dimensions & Weight: Measures 98 × 33 × 23 mm and weighs only 50g.
  • Power & Charging: Equipped with a 3.7V/500mAh rechargeable lithium battery charged via Type-C USB, with a 10-minute auto-off timer.
  • Data Storage & PC Link: Stores up to 1,000 measurements, supports user self-calibration, and exports data to a PC via included software.

Q5: What model configurations are available, and how can I request an inquiry?

A: Model choices combine various VFL power outputs (5mW to 50mW) and OPM measurement ranges (-70 to +10dBm or -50 to +26dBm), including options TN-05A/C, TN-10A/C, TN-20A/C, TN-30A/C, and TN-50A/C. Evaluating the TYNISH Thumb Sized OPM & VFL multimeter for field service work, its ultra-compact 50g weight and 98 x 33 x 23 mm dimensions make it remarkably easy to slip into a pocket or tool pouch. The 0.96-inch 128x64 OLED screen remains crisp and easy to read from any viewing angle, even under direct sunlight. Combining an Optical Power Meter with a Visual Fault Locator behind a 2.5mm universal connector eliminates the need to carry separate handheld instruments. For rapid link checks, this thumb-sized multimeter (SKU: TYNISH-OPM-VFL-TS) is an exceptionally practical field tool.

We deployed the TYNISH integrated OPM & VFL units (TN-10A model configuration) across our field installation teams. The InGaAs photodetector accurately measures optical power across 7 calibrated wavelengths spanning 800nm to 1700nm while displaying mW and dBm values simultaneously on screen. Its ability to recognize modulation tones (CW, 270Hz, 330Hz, 1kHz, and 2kHz) makes active link identification straightforward. Storing up to 1,000 records on-device and exporting test data directly to a PC via software greatly streamlines our job site reporting.

From an equipment management perspective, the TYNISH Thumb Sized OPM & VFL offers great modern convenience. The internal 3.7V/500mAh rechargeable lithium battery charges rapidly via Type-C USB, while a 10-minute auto-off timer preserves power during long shifts. The 650nm VFL red light output remains extremely stable right up until battery exhaustion, helping technicians locate fault points cleanly. Combined with user self-calibration support and PC software integration, it delivers impressive functionality in a 50g package.
