Deploying the FOSCYA5 dome closure across our regional fiber distribution network solved our mid-span cable splicing requirements. The entry port configuration—featuring 4 ports for cables up to 16 mm and 1 main port for cables up to 25 mm—enables our field technicians to perform clean, uncut mid-span feeder loops without severing active fibers. The 4 dual-layer splice trays easily handle up to 96 bunchy fibers (24 fibers per dual-layer tray), while the dedicated fiber holding tray neatly organizes loose buffer tubes. Constructed with a durable Polycarbonate body and thermoplastic rubber sealing grommet, its heat-shrinkable sealing structure maintains an airtight, moisture-proof seal across severe operating temperatures from -40°C to +65°C. It has proven completely weather-resistant across aerial pole-mounts, underground pipelines, and manhole installations.

At a reference price starting at just $27 USD, FirstFiber's FOSCYA5 delivers utility-grade protection and high fiber density for commercial distribution builds. With compact physical dimensions of 440 × 190 mm and a manageable net weight of 2.35 kg to 2.6 kg, the enclosure is easy for our crews to maneuver during overhead aerial and wall-mounting installations. Despite its compact profile, the closure supports up to 288 ribbon fibers or 96 bunchy fibers across its 4 splice trays. Each unit arrives as a complete turnkey kit equipped with standard accessories including hanging hoops, an M10 wrench, grounding wire, nylon ties, abrasive cloth, and protective aluminum-foil paper. It is an economical, future-proof closure for expanding municipal FTTx networks.

We standardized on the FOSCYA5 for direct-buried and pipeline fiber splicing contracts due to its heavy-duty Polycarbonate outer shell. The rugged PC housing and plastic hoop clamp withstand heavy soil pressure and vibration without leaking. We opted to include the optional air testing valve to verify pressure integrity before backfilling underground trenches. Selecting between the 24-core, 48-core, 72-core, and 96-core capacity options allowed our engineering team to order exact tray configurations for various distribution nodes. The heat-shrink protective tubes and branching clips provide long-term, airtight sealing around all cable entries.
