The FF-260A/C series optical power meter is controlled by an advanced single-chip microprocessor, offering a comprehensive suite of functions. Equipped with an embedded detector, the core sensor is well-protected against field damage. It features 10 standard wavelengths, automatic frequency recognition, auto-shutdown, a backlit display, wavelength memory, and user self-calibration—all while delivering a wide testing range with high accuracy. The FF-260A/C series is primarily designed for measuring continuous and modulated optical signal power, performing fiber link loss testing, and verifying fiber optic line continuity. It is widely applied in optical cable construction and maintenance, fiber optic communications, optical sensing, and CATV fields.
Equipping our field technicians with the FF-260A has significantly simplified routine loss testing across our FTTx infrastructure. Having 10 pre-calibrated standard wavelengths (ranging from 850 nm up to 1577, 1625, and 1650 nm) in a single handheld unit eliminates the need for multiple meters when transitioning between legacy single-mode links and modern 10G-PON architectures. The embedded InGaAs sensor is recessed intelligently inside the chassis, protecting the optical interface against accidental drops during tower and trench operations. Running on standard AA batteries with over 120 hours of operating time, it provides exceptional field reliability without frequent battery changes.

We selected the FF-260C variant specifically for its high-power measurement range of -50 to +26 dBm, which easily handles high-output EDFA optical amplifiers and RFoG/CATV nodes without optical detector saturation. The integrated multi-module design adds tremendous value: the optional 2 mW 650 nm VFL module allows quick visual fault finding, while the built-in RJ45 sequence testing port lets our installers check twisted-pair patch cables up to 300 meters on the spot. At just 130 grams and 110 x 68 x 27 mm, it fits comfortably into a tool belt while serving as an all-in-one optical and copper verifier.

The single-chip microprocessor control in the FF-260 series delivers stable, repeatable power measurements with a display resolution of ±0.01 dB and linear power readouts down to 0.1% nW. The unit's automatic modulation frequency recognition works seamlessly alongside our optical light sources during insertion loss testing, preventing technician errors when switching tone modes. Furthermore, the inclusion of wavelength memory and field user self-calibration routines ensures our testing compliance remains strictly aligned with internal quality benchmarks. The 2.5 mm universal connector accepts standard SC, FC, and ST ferrules without requiring bulky adapters.
