What connectors does the OTDR support?

The FC1500 OTDR is with SC and FC connectors. ST, LC connectors are sold separately. Contact our sales if need please.

Does the OTDR support touch screen?

yes, users can control it by 3 methods. The first one is by touch screen, the second one is by physical buttons, and the third one is by bluetooth that connected to users’ mobile phone

The screen is clearly in outdoor strong sunshine?

yes, users can turn on “strong light mode” in system settings.

what min cable length does the OTDR test?

3 meters for cables with UPC connector. 10 meters for cables with APC connector.

Does the OTDR can test multi mode fiber?

No, it tests single mode fiber only. If you are going to test multi mode fiber, the other model 980EXP-M22 is ok.

What menu languages does the OTDR support?

Now, Chinese and English. If customers can help us translatation, we can add more languages for the OTDR.

The OTDR module delivers exceptional spatial detail thanks to its minimum 0.03 m sampling resolution and over 160,000 sampling points, making short-patch attenuation and splice losses easily distinguishable. Furthermore, the onboard 8GB storage holding over 200,000 SOR trace curves allows our auditing teams to capture extensive link profiles before exporting via Type-C USB to OTDRviewer software. On the copper side, the detachable RJ45 remote unit built into the chassis bottom enables rapid 568A/568B pinout verification up to 300 meters.

We deployed several FC1500-A24 units (1625nm, 24dB dynamic range) across our FTTH maintenance divisions specifically for live fiber diagnostics. The integrated optical filter allows technicians to test active fibers carrying 1310/1490/1550/1577nm signals (at power levels below 0 dBm) without causing service interruptions or receiver damage. The 4.3-inch IPS touchscreen features a dedicated Strong Light Mode in system settings that makes trace curves crisp and legible under direct sunlight. Technicians also appreciate the tri-control system, allowing seamless operation via physical buttons when wearing gloves, direct capacitive touch, or remotely via Bluetooth on a smartphone.
