FAQ

Q1: What is the maximum fiber capacity of the FOSCMA4 splice closure?

A: The maximum capacity is 96 fibers for bunchy configurations and 288 fibers for ribbon setups. Selectable capacity options for ordering include 24, 48, 72, and 96 Cores.

Q2: How many ports does the FOSCMA4 feature, and what cable diameter is supported?

A: It features 4 inlet/outlet ports that accommodate cable diameters up to 17mm per port.

Q3: What are the physical dimensions, net weight, and operating temperature range?

A: The closure dimensions are 430(H) × 190(D) mm, with a net weight ranging from 2.5 kg to 3.1 kg. It operates reliably across extreme temperatures from -40℃ to 65℃.

Q4: What installation methods are supported for the FOSCMA4?

A: The closure supports aerial, direct buried, pipelined, wall mounting, and manhole installations.

Q5: What materials are used for the main body and sealing structure?

A: The housing body is constructed from durable PC (Polycarbonate) material, and the mechanical sealing structure utilizes thermoplastic rubber.

Q6: What are the specifications for the splice trays?

A: The unit contains up to 4 splice trays. Each tray accommodates 12 fibers (single layer) or 24 fibers (dual layers) for bunchy fibers, or 6 standard ribbon pieces.

Integrating FirstFiber’s FOSCMA4 dome closure across our regional distribution network simplified mid-span splicing and maintenance. The mechanical sealing design with thermoplastic rubber allows field technicians to re-enter and seal the unit quickly without needing heating torches. Featuring 4 entry ports accommodating cable diameters up to 17 mm, it provides plenty of routing flexibility for distribution drops. The PC body operates reliably across a wide -40°C to +65°C range, maintaining airtight protection in manholes and aerial pole mounts. Supporting up to 96 bunchy fibers across 4 dual-layer splice trays, it is a dependable, reusable enclosure.

At a reference price starting at just $27 USD, FirstFiber's FOSCMA4 offers exceptional commercial value for B2B network builds. With dimensions of 430 × 190 mm and a net weight between 2.5 kg and 3.1 kg, the enclosure is lightweight enough for overhead aerial and wall-mount installations. It accommodates up to 288 ribbon fibers or 96 bunchy fibers across 4 splice trays. The kit includes port wrenches, an M10 wrench, sealing tape, insulation tape, hanging hoops, and protective sleeves, providing everything needed for field deployment right out of the box.

We standardized on the FOSCMA4 for underground pipeline and direct-buried splicing contracts due to its tough Polycarbonate outer body. The mechanical hoop clamp and sealing grommet withstand heavy soil pressure without leaking. Its interior includes a dedicated fiber holding tray to store loose tube buffer fibers safely alongside 4 splice trays (24 bunchy fibers per dual-layer tray). We also opted to add the optional pressure testing valve to perform air pressure integrity checks prior to backfilling. It is a solid, cost-effective mechanical dome closure for long-term cable protection.
