Integrating the FOSCMF6 mechanical dome closure into our metro fiber expansion streamlined high-density cable splicing and routine maintenance. The mechanical sealing design featuring thermoplastic rubber grommets allows field crews to open and re-seal the unit quickly without needing heat shrink torches. Its 6-port arrangement—comprising 2 larger 21 mm ports for heavy feeder cables and 4 branch 16 mm ports—offers ideal cable-size versatility for major junction nodes. Housing up to 10 splice trays, the enclosure supports up to 240 bunchy fibers or 576 ribbon fibers with clean interior routing. Rated for outdoor operating temperatures between -40°C and +65°C, the Polycarbonate (PC) body provides robust, weather-resistant protection in flooded manhole and direct buried environments.

At a reference price starting at $25 USD, FirstFiber's FOSCMF6 offers remarkable B2B value for utility-grade fiber network deployments. Measuring 455 (H) × 220 (D) mm with a net weight ranging from 3.3 kg to 4.2 kg, the closure is compact and manageable for overhead pole-mounting and wall-mounting jobs. The product ships as a complete turnkey kit equipped with 6 port sealing rings, sealing tape, insulation tape, an M10 wrench, port wrenches, nylon ties, and hanging hoops. The 10 dual-layer trays easily manage 24 bunchy fibers per tray (12 per single layer), making it an economical workhorse for scalable telecom infrastructure.

We deployed the FOSCMF6 across several underground pipeline and duct splicing contracts where fast cable access and multi-size entry ports were required. The inclusion of 2 ports accommodating up to 21 mm cable diameters alongside 4 ports accepting up to 16 mm cables simplifies main-to-branch feeder transitions. Un-spliced loose tube buffer fibers store neatly in the dedicated fiber holding tray. We also opted to add the optional pressure testing valve to verify airtight mechanical seals prior to underground trench backfilling. From 24-core drop taps up to fully loaded 240-core trunk splices, this mechanical dome closure provides long-term seal integrity and excellent internal organization.
