Why the tester is needed?

With the popularity of PON network and the blowout development of optical network terminals, telecom operators need to have a new method to check the occupation of resources on optical ports to reduce the waste of port resources.

By a kind of traditional manual checking is extremely complicated, inefficient, and will bring huge trouble to subscribers.

Evaluating signal degradation across passive optical networks requires reliable tri-wavelength power assessment. The PON-NST performs synchronous power measurements across 1310 nm upstream (-50 to +10 dBm) and 1490 nm/1550 nm downstream channels (-40 to +12 dBm / +25 dBm) with a clean 0.01 dB display resolution and ±0.5 dB uncertainty. Its ability to capture 1310 nm burst-mode signals from active ONTs ensures precise link margin calculations under live TDMA traffic. The multi-connector interface supports FC, SC, and ST terminations cleanly, providing our field engineers with consistent, repeatable readings across legacy and newly deployed GPON/EPON cabinets.
